Is Google Losing the AI Race?
The highly anticipated Google I/O 2023 event was nothing short of lackluster for tech enthusiasts.
While there were a few noteworthy updates, it was nothing to write home about. And to make matters worse, Google left us hanging with no major announcements about crypto.
Sure, they unveiled the new Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, but whoop-dee-doo, we’ve seen foldable screens before. Where were the groundbreaking software announcements and surprises we were all hoping for? Nowhere to be found.
But the biggest slap in the face came from the absence of any concrete details about Google’s cryptocurrency plans.
They’ve been teasing us with the promise of a foray into the crypto space for months, and what do we get? Nada. Zilch. Zippo. Google CEO Sundar Pichai gave a vague mention of blockchain technology but nothing substantial.
Yes, Google’s AI-powered chatbot Bard is now available to everyone, and there’s a new AI snapshot feature in Google Search. But who cares? It’s just more smoke and mirrors. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for the good stuff; maybe next year.
